PVN focuses on technology development and investment

In the strategy of accelerating the development of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), science and technology have been included in the group of three most important breakthrough solutions. This is the driving force behind the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry to develop strongly during the past 50 years.


Technology approaching world level


Undeniably, the importance of investment in science and technology for high technology for many years has helped Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) reap the "sweet fruits" in business activities. The Oil and Gas industry is considered to be an economic and technical industry with a high content of science and technology and thus all miracles always come from the application of technology. Typically, the application activity from a very early time of modern technologies such as 2D, 3D seismic survey, large database, cloud computing ... in many fields of search, exploration, and exploitation of oil and gas; applying many modern technologies in factories of fertilizer processing, oil refining, gas treatment ... Therefore, Petrovietnam has 3 Ho Chi Minh Awards and 2 State awards for science and technology. The project "The solution to collect and bring gas ashore by 3-phase pipeline", more than 350km long from Lan Tay field to the shore, with a capacity of 7 billion m3 / year, safe operation for 15 years is a symbol of science and technology an S&T project of regional stature. Right strategy and direction when considering science and technology as the core of the development.


According to PVN, modern technology has been applied in secondary mining in fields such as Bach Ho, Rang Dong, Su Tu Den ... In oil and gas processing, the technology of deep cooling of the material gas stream has helped to improve the efficiency of liquid gas recovery at gas treatment plant; CNG compression technology is applied in compressing raw air into high-pressure tanks; technologies for importing, exporting and storing refrigerated LPG ...



In addition, PVN and its member enterprises are also stepped by step making efforts to do a good "digital" transformation, promoting the application of automatic control technology in production and business activities and corporate governance to improve the high competitiveness, increase operational efficiency. This is an important foundation to be able to apply the achievements of the industrial revolution 4.0.


Enhance investment in technology


Currently, PVN has a policy of perfecting Petrovietnam's and its member companies' management and corporate governance reforms and reforms according to international standards in accordance with the requirements of Industry 4.0, in which restructuring is required products in the direction of increasing the share of using oil and gas as raw materials and reducing the proportion of fuel; give priority to the development of complete gas industry, because natural gas is clean energy with high efficiency and the low greenhouse effect. Besides, the oil and gas industry will also be more aggressive in training high-quality human resources to meet development requirements; increase the training of human resources to operate, control equipment, factories, and can control and manage related technological processes. And more than that, the oil and gas industry is in desperate need of a mechanism and legal corridor suitable for the new development stage for sustainable development.


PVN said that in the coming period, it will continue to cooperate with foreign partners to research and develop new technology solutions to ensure optimal resources and sustainable development. PVN will also increase investment in scientific and technological research to find optimal solutions for oil and gas exploitation, increase recovery coefficient, optimize the operation of oil and gas processing plants; product diversification, making an important contribution to ensuring national energy security.
